What is Irregular verb?

An irregular verb is a verb that does not follow the regular pattern of adding -ed to the base form to form the past tense and past participle. Each irregular verb has its own unique form. Some examples of irregular verbs include:

  • Go/went/gone
  • Eat/ate/eaten
  • Write/wrote/written
  • Break/broke/broken
  • Sing/sang/sung
  • Take/took/taken
  • Do/did/done
  • Have/had/had

It is important to learn the irregular verb forms in order to use them correctly in sentences. Regular verbs, on the other hand, follow the regular pattern of adding -ed to the base form to form the past tense and past participle.
